GIRL SHOOTS HERSELF.
TRAGEDY AT FARMHOUSE. SAD STORY TOLD CORONER. HAMILTON, May 2. An inquest into the death of Mavis Enid Buckeridge, as the result of a gunshot wound on Friday, was held at To Papatapu before Mr W. G. Vernon, J.P., and a jury of four. E. W. Buckeridge, father of the girl, said lie was in the kitchen with bis wife and daughter when tlie latter left the room. Immediately afterwards he heard the sound of a fall, and, oil going to investigate, he found her in another room. She collapsed on his entrance and died shortly afterwards. She had been subject to fits of hysteria since an experience in a motor accident seven years ago, and for a few days prior to her death had been depressed. Dr. H. P. Lange stated that there was a bullet wound in deceased’s breast, and another large one behind her shoulder. Death was due to internal hemorrhage and shock. Tlie verdict was that deceased died of a gunshot wound, self-inflicted while temporarily insane.
