SUPREME COURT.

TIMARU SESSIONS. Per Press Association. TIMARU, May 3. The criminal session of the Supreme Court opened to-day before Mr Justice Adams. Addressing the Grand Jury, His Honour said that he regretted that there was a greater number of cases than was usual in Timaru and many were, unhappily, cases concerning young children. It was deplorable that such cases were increasing. In addition, there was a case against two merchants for allegedly failing to keep proper books and another under the Chattels Security Act. The Grand Jury returned true bills in all of the cases, except one.
