FEILDING NEWS

MOTOR CYCLE RACES. .. (Special to “Standard.”) FEILDING, April 26. The motor cycle races held on Saturday at .the Feilding racecourse under the auspices of the Feilding Motor Club were greatly enjoyed. Due, no doubt, to some apprehension, as *fto whether the sports would be field. after the heavy rain that.had fallen oh the days previous to the meeting, the attendance was only fair. The course, however, was in good.order and only showed signs of wear towards the close of the meeting. The going was too heavy for any fast times to be recorded, but nearly every race provided intense excitement and the excellence of the handicapping was reflected in the several close finishes that were witnessed. Much'credit is due to the hon'. secretary of the club Mr L. D. Miller, and his committee for the manner in which the lengthy programme was got off without a hitch. It was the first occasion on which a twelve race programme had been attempted and the success of the effort was an achievement of which the club officials may well be proud. The meeting was devoid of any accident whatsoever which 4 in view of the well filled fields which contested every race, was very satisfactory.
