CHARGES DISMISSED.

William Hqley, a labouror, of Dannevirke, appeared on remand at tho Magistrate's Court this morning to answer a charge of ailegedly stealing a brown mare '■'valued at £6, the property of George Havill, of Palmerston North. The offence was alleged to hifve been committed in 1923. After hearing the evidence, the Magistrate, Mr J. L. Stout, dismissed the charge. Duncan Carmichael McPhail, aged 37, a farmer of Raetahi, was charged with being found by night in an enclosed area on the property of Mr John Nairn, College Street, without lawful excuse, but under circumstances, that did not disclose tho commission or intent to commit any offence. The Magistrate dismissed the charge.
