INTERESTING SUBJECTS.

Received April 22, 11.20 a.m. RUGBY, April 2i. An important international conference will open i n London next Monday over which Sir Philip Sassoon, Under-Secretary for Air, will preside. / The conference is one of the international meetings which are held halfyearly. Thirty-one subjects are on the agenda, embracing all aspects of air navigation, including gyroplanes and parachutes. _ , The conference originally consisted only of representatives of the allied Powers, but it has been extended to include delegates from other states. Fifteen countries, in, addition to Great Britain an I the Dominions, have been invited to participate at this conference. It thus .becomes in the true sense of the word international. On Tuesday the Government will entertain the visitors at a banquet. One interesting: subject on the agenda is that of the competency of women to pilot commercial aircraft. One of the most important suggestions is that of standard international minimum requirements for the issue of certificates of airworthiness and unification of the characteristics required for -the materials used in aeronautical construction. —British official wireless.
