The conditions prevailing at the Terrace End School householders’ meeting last evening were somewhat exceptional so. far as the arrangements were concerned. The meeting was held in the old infant schoolroom, desks being improvised for seating purposes, while illumination was supplied by gas, oil lamps and even a candle. Outside, owing to building operations, more lights were requisitioned to rguide the householders around stacks..of timber and other obstructions. This, state of affairs, however, will not remain much longer, for, with the completion of the new school, ample accommodation for meetings will be provided by a . system of construction which allows of two commodious' classrooms being utilised for assembly purposes.
