TERROR FOR CRIMINALS.
LONDON, April 15. Tlie use of ultra-violet rays as a detector of crime is predicted, says the Meekly Dispatch. A Birmingham scientist, Alexander King, has perfected a new arc lamp for transmi;ting the rays. This he claims will e:ir.ble arsenic to be detected better than by other means. It will also be valuable for use in the detection of spurious jewels, the searching light indicati ig immediately the difference between genuine and artificial stones. Furtl ar, it can be used for testing chemical and oils and revealing impurities in wool yarn.
