The death is announced from London of the Rev. Archibald Henderson, the Scottish divine, aged 90 years. Rev. S. Keen, who lias been in charge of the Methodist Church at Gonville for the past two. years, has been transferred to Masterton. Mr. D. Smith was the only one nominated yesterday for the position of president of the Wellington Rotary Club for the ensuing year. Mr. H. Valentine, chief accountant to the Railway Department, who was a member of the delegation which represented New Zealand at the Australian and N£w Zealand Railway Officers’ Conference, was indisposed during a portion of the tour. On his return to Wellington yesterday he was reported to be greatly improved in health. At last evening’s meeting of the Terrace End School Committee a vote of condolence was passed to the widow and relatives of the late Hon D. H. Guthrie. The chairman (Mr W. B. Cameron), in paying a tribute to the character of the deceased gentleman, mentioned that at one time he was headmaster of the school. The motion was carried in the usual manner.
