DANIELS MYSTERY.

ANOTHER THEORY. LONDON, March 16. The latest theory concerning the death of May Daniels is that she did not die on the spot where the body was found, but at a house at Boulogne, that the body was afterwards taken to the Napoleon column, probably in a motor-car, and that the broken hyperdermic syringe was placed nearby as a blind. It is also regarded as significant that her umbrella was placed beside her the wrong way round, the handle being downwards, which no woman is likely to do. It is further reported that the French police do not believe that she .was ever lost. They believe that she left Nurse McCarthy for the purpose of keeping an appointment, of which Nurse McCarthy was ignorant, with an Englishman whose identity is stated to be suspected.—A. and N.Z. cable.
