Mr Gifford Marshall has resigned the position of Crown Prosecutor at "Wanganui, and his successor will be Mr W. H. Cunningham. Mr H. Morgan, who has been Registrar of the Supreme Court, Wanganui, since 1922, has received notice of his transfer to Hamilton. Mr. W. S. Jones, of the Masterton Court, will be his successor. The friends cf Mr R. W. Reaburn, of Ruahine Street, will regret to learn that he was compelled to enter a private hospital in Wellington, where he underwent an operation this week. His condition is reported to be satisfactory. Mr R. Pollock, representing the Stanley McKay pantomime and musical comedy company, was in Palmerston North to-day making arrangements for the company’s appearances at the Opera Houso on Saturday, March 26.
Mr T. P. Henderson, of Ferguson Street, who was admitted to hospital yesterday suffering from injuries sustained as the result of coming into collision with a motor car while cycling, was to-day reported to be still feeling the effects of the mishap. His condition is,' however, not considered to be serious.
Advice has been received in Auckland (states a I’ress Association message) of the death in England of Captain George Ralls, aged. 92, who had a lengthy connection with sailing ships trading between England and New Zealand in the early days. He was at one time captain of the City of Auckland, on which the late Mr W. F. Massey came to New Zealand.
Dr. Henry W. Suzzallo, regarded as one of the "foremost educational authorities in the United States, arrived in Sydney by the Sierra last Thursday, and was to remain there a week before returning to America via New Zealand. He was formerly Professor of Educational Sociology in the Teachers’ College, Columbia University, New York, and for many years has been president of the State University of Washington at Seattle.
