ST. PATRICK’S SCHOOLS
ANNUAL SPORTS. The annual sports of St. Patrick’s Church Schools were held on the AsliInirst Domain yesterday afternoon, tho attendance, despite the unpromising weather at the time of departure from Palmerston North being between •500 and 600, including a number of parents. The picnickers, on arrival at ihe beautiful grounds, speedily mado their way to points of vantage in the native bush and there partook of lunch, the children being well catered for as regards cakes, lollies, soft drinks, fruit and other eatables. Despite occasional showers which caused several stampedes to the pavilion, a lengthy sports programme was held, the contestants ranging in age from under threo years to ladies and gentlemen well advanced in years. Tho fixture upheld in every way the reputation gained in past years, being an unqualified success and "reflecting great credit on the organisers who worked unceasingly in the interests of the children.
