MUST NOT BE ABUSED. SYDNEY, Feb. 27. Wollongong returned soldiers are indignant over sohie remarks made by speakers at an open-air meeting at Wollongong. At a meeting of the leagfie the following motion was carried: “That the Wollongong sub-branch of tlie R.S. and S.I. League is asked to work to make peace, not only within the Empire, but outside it; but, if, under the liberty of free speech, statements are uttered in a, public place reflecting on returned men and the King’s uniform, they will not be responsible for any action of disturbance that may arise.” The resolution will be sent to the inspector of police and the council, with a request that no speakers in a public place be allowed to abuse the liberty of free speech.
