TAKARO CUP. The Takaro Cup was the trophy at stake yesterday in a match played on the Palmerston North green between a Northern and a home rink. The teams were:—Palmerston North: Wilson, Hansel, Crump, Baylis (skip) ; Northern, Thornley, Beattie, Stallard, Cunninghame (skip). On the 15th head Palmerston North led by 16 points to 8. Northern, however, made a great recovery, and were only four points down when the last head commenced. Cunninghame had an excellent chance to trail the kitty for five and narrowly missed with his first bowl, his second not being so good. The final score was Palmerston North 18, Northern 15.

RINKS CHAMPIONSHIP. The Manawatu Centre’s champion of champion rinks competition will take place on the Palmerston North green on Saturday next, commencing at 8.45 a.m. Entries close at 6 p.m. to-day. The following links have entered so far:—
