BOULOGNE MYSTERY

LONG NEWSPAPER ACCOUNTS. nurse McCarthy distraught. (By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) Received March 16, 12.35 p.m. LONDON, March 15. Nurse McCarthy is so distraught in consequence of the ordeal she is undergoing in connection with the Daniels investigation that she is reported to' have entered a London hospital. The examining magistrate-had officially requested that she go to Boulogne on Friday. Newspaper correspondents, both English and French, are giving long accounts of the proceedings. The Daily Express’s Boulogne correspondent, says that the investigations have now reached a stage where it is possible to say definitely that vital information is being concealed by persons in Boulogne. Nurse Daniels spent at least one night in Boulogne, yet nobody can be found who will sa3 T where. There is good reason to believe that she was taken to one or other of the small cafes which are the rendezvous of the lowest criminals. The police point out that elaborate precautions will be taken to shield Nurse McCarthy from publicity, and everything will be done to spare her feelings if she goes to Boulogne.—A. and N.Z. cable.
