Mr P. Walsh, manager of the glaze faotory at Port Pirie, victoria, was a visitor to Bunnythorpe during the week, looking up some of his old friends. The monthly meeting of the school committee took place on Monday, February 28, when there were present: Messrs W. T. Maxwell (chairman), L. Pascoe, J. Scheldt 'W. Eggleton, F. Burton, and W. B. Duthie. Correspondence was read from the Education Board and Railway Department regarding the children attending Palmerston North on Friday, March 4. It was decided to grant a holiday to the school on Wednesday and Friday to attend the jubilee function and the Duke and Duchess’. visit to 1 Palmerston North. The visiting committee’s report was received ana Messrs F. Burton and J. Scheidt were appointed visitors for the ensuing month. The headmaster’s report showed that the average attendance had fallen considerably. owing to sickness. Ho also asked for material. Other general business was dealt with and accounts were passed for payment. It was also decided to have the electric light installed in the school and a number of seats erected on the school ground. Mr W. Eggleton left for Auckland early in the week to attend the Methodist Conference being held in that city.
