CAPSIZE OF CAR.

SEA WALL CARRIED AWAY. Per Press Association. GISBORNE, Feb. 28. An inquest was opened at Tokomaru Bay concerning the death of Mr A. B. Wheat, superintendent of the Taranaki Oilfields, Ltd. Evidence showed that deceased’s car was travelling about fifty yards to the seaward side of the usual track, and that it was overturned at a depression caused by the sea wall carrying away, the car rolling over the retaining wall on to the rocks on the beach below. Mr Wheat was pinned down, one door resting on his chest and the other on his Tegs. His companion was also imprisoned beneath the car,' and suffered cuts, bruises, and severe shock. The inquest was adjourned.
