CHILLED BEEF.

AUSTRALIAN SHIPMENT. , TRADE PAPER'S COMMENT. GOOD QUALITY NECESSARY. Received February 25, 10.5 a.m. LONDON, Feb. 24. Commenting on Port Hardy’s shipment of chilled beef, the Meat Trades Journal says: “The consignment demonstrated that beef can be brought chilled from Australia with faster boats, and that we imagine was all the Perfect Food Process Company was out to prove. We cannot say whether it is a commercial proposition, but if the Australians are over to enter into serious competition with Argentina they must send better quality and pay more attention to handling and dressing.”—A. and N.Z. cable.
