VESSEL IN GALE.

RESCUE OF THE CREW. Received Februarv 4, 10.50 a.m. MELBOURNE, Feb. 4. Tho Helen Moore, with sails blown away by a galo of tho velocity of sixty miles an hour, drifted off Queenscliff until daylight. A lifeboat crew was summoned by the ringing of the wreck bell which brought hundreds to the pier. A rocket from the Helen Moore was also seen by the destroyer Yarra which was anchored at the Swan Island naval depot. The destroyer joined tho search for the distressed vessel, but fruitlessly, no further distress signals being seen. At daylight the Helen Moore was located, apparently aground. A lifeboat again put out and brought tho crew ashore. Later a tug left to bring the Helen Moore to port.—Press Association.
