CONSCIENCE MONEY.

TWO SHILLINGS FORWARDED. [By Telegraph.—Special to Standard.] AUCKLAND, Feb. 5. The action of an unknown person in sending 2s as conscience money to the Auckland Military Sports Association in consideration of his having witnessed the military pageant from the top of the Wallace ward at the hospital has persuaded a second “deadhead” to follow suit, and escape tho pricks of conscience.

The anonymous writer, addressing Lieutenant Laffey at the Drill Hall, says: “I am another who viewed the military pageant from the outside (twice), but not exactly intentionally. I was in the neighbourhod at the time and sat on the bank outside during the performance. I was exceedingly impressed by the whole production which was magnificently got up. I enclose 25.”
