MAN BEFORE COURT

JUSTICES IMPOSE A FINE.

Charged with having used indecent language in Domain street yesterday, James Wilmont, alias William Wilinont, 52 years of age, pleaded guilty when he appeared before Messrs W. G. Ashworth and G. H. Espiner, J.P’s., at the Police Court this morning. Senior-Sergeant O’Grady stated that the offence had occurred last evening. Accused, when coming out of his sister’s place, had used the language complained of, apparently addressing someone inside. He was heard on the street, and, according to the constable’s report, a lady had been about at the time. Accused had not been drunk at tho time.

A fine of £2, in default 14 days’ imprisonment, was imposed.
