PRISON ESCAPEE.
REPORTED TO/HAVE BEEN SEEN
[By Telegraph.—Special tb Standard.] AUCKLAND, Dec. 30.
Reports received by the police at Pukekohe during the past lew , days state that a man answering the description of the prisoner, Samuel Arthur Pudney, who escaped from Mt. Eden gaol on December 5, was seen in the district-.
The man was living alone in an isolated shanty, but when further inquiries were made it was found that he had disappeared.
