VALEDICTORY.
MR A. W. LEET HONOURED. At the close of the evening service at the Emmanuel Congregational Church yesterday, the members of the choir met to pay their tribute of appreciation to the retiring choirmaster, Mr A. W. Leet. The Rev. J. Milburn .Stewart, in presenting Mr Leet with a handsome silver cigarette case, made eulogistic reference to the excellent work performed by the choirmaster during his long term of office, extending over a period of 20 years. All regretted Mr Leet’s retirement, but were proud of the fact that he had provided the Church with an excellent and capable successor in his son, Mr Newman Leet, who has been appointed musical director of the Church. In thanking the choir for the kind and thoughtful action, in presenting him with such a beautiful and useful gift, ■Mr Leet gave some interesting reminiscencies of the choir’s work ana expressed the hope that it would continue To prosper and render useful service in the interests of the Church.
