BIG DEMANDS
COACHMAKERS’ UNION. SHORTER HOURS WANTED. ALSO INCREASED PAY. (By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) Received July 24, 9.35 a.m. SYDNEY, July 24. The Coachmakers’ Union, on behalf of the members who are employees of the railway, commissioners, have lodged claims asking, inter alia, for a 36 hour week for painters, an increase in wages by 25 per cent, and a 40 hour .week for members engaged in carriage and wagon building and carriage trimming.—Press Association.
