SALE TO GOVERNMENT. LARGE SUM TO BE DISTRIBUTED. . HASTINGS, July 24. The Maori Land Board yesterday confirmed the previous resolution passed by the Native owners of the Puketitiri block for the sale thereof to the Crown. Next Thursday promises to be a red letter day for the Maoris for the Native Land Purchase Board will be paying out about £17,700 as purchase money for the block. Hastings business people especially are looking forward to Thursday.
