TAX ON PETROL.
SOUTH AUSTRALIAN MEASURE. MELBOURNE, July 22. In the House of Representatives Mr Lathdm, Attorney-General, stated that the Commonwealth was taking steps to restrain the South Australian Government collecting a tax on petrol under the Act passed last year. Mr Latham added that the Commonwealth Gov- t eminent contended that such a tax was unconstitutional.—Press Association.
