BACK ON WAR BREAD.
PROSPECTS IN EUROPE. LONDON, July 22. A large part of Europe will shortly be back on war bread. The subject is prominent in France, Italy and Belgium, all being desirous of checking wheat imports. Rome reports that Signor Mussolini sampled a specially prepared semiblack coarse flour bread, and declared it very agreeable. It will probably be adopted. The first decrees under the powers conferred on the King of the Belgians provide penalties for spreading false news likely to disturb credit, and prohibit the milling of flour finer than prescribed by the Minister of Labour, who is empowered to modify the quality to the extent of mixing with the wheat ""5 per cent of maize.—A. and N.Z. cable.
