DOMINIONS’ STATUS.
* FIRST STEP. AGREEMENT WITH MOTHERLAND. LONDON, July 11. Lord Parmoor stated recently that the question of tne Dominions’ future status necessitated Britain meeting in every way tho Dominions’ wishes, thereby encouraging the spirit of loyalty and unity on which the strength and value of the Empire depended. No doubt the Dominions’ inestimable aid in the Great War, he said, would be repeated in the event of a similar crisis. There were many “paper provisions’" 1 for British consultation with the Dominions, but these would be ineffective internationally unless the position of the Dominions was made clear by international assent. ’ “I hope,” he continued, “that the Imperial Conference discussions will find a solution acceptable to all parties. Personally, I think there is a’ possibility of obtaining international assent, but the first necessity is an Anglo-Dominiou agreement.”
