RACING PERMITS.
OBJECTION TO INCREASE. [By Telegraph—Special to Standard.! ’ AUCKLAND, July 21. “Some stand will have to.be taken to prevent any increase in racing permits,” declared Mr F. Bennett, president of the .Karangaliape Road Business Promotion Society in an address to-day. “I am not a wowser, but I believe that in the interests of the country and the younger generation something should be done to curtail the permits and even the meetings. It is becoming a menace. Things are getting in such a way that all the younger people look forward to now is pleasure, ancl their pay day.”
