NOT FOR CANBERRA. MR BRUCE HASN’T SEEN IT. MELBOURNE, July 15. The Prime Minister, Mr Bruce, stated to-day that tho Commonwealth Government had not decided to purchase Sir AVilliam Orpen’s portrait of Mr AV. M. Hughes, tho former Prime Minister, for the adornment of Parliament House, Canberra. “I know nothing about such a proposal,” ho said. “I do not even know where the portrait is. I have never seen it, and I do not know whethor it is a good portrait or not.”
