An interesting test of electrically heating St. Paul’s Methodist Church will be made to-morrow. Radiators have been temporarily installed and at intervals the temperature of the building will be taken. Many of the churches have found that the substitution of electric lighting for gas has resulted in colder buildings on Sunday nights. This has created a necessity. for heating the buildings. For both services to-morrow the test will be carried out. Eight radiators will bf in use. It is confidently anticipated that the result will be entirely satisfactory and in that case a. permanent installation will immediately be made. The added comfort will be appreciated by worshippers. A successful euchre and dance was held last evening under the auspices of the West End School ladies’ committee. There was a large attendance, and a pleasant time was spent by all present. Mrs Wright won the ladies’ euchre and Mrs Downey the consolation prize, while in the men’s division Mr Wright was first and Mr Green secured the consolation. The music during the evening was supplied by Mr Pepper, and extras were contributed by Miss Bodell. Mr Morgan capably carried out the duties of M.C. “All is not gold that glitters,” neither is all fuji silk sold equal to the standard claimed for it.
