POSED AS A DOCTOR.
ENTERTAINED NAVAL MEN.
BRISBANE, Juno 4. After posing as Dr. Mclntosh, of New Zealand, who intended setting up in practice on Wickham Terrace, Brisbane, Cyril Mclntosh, who arrived from Sydney about three weeks ago, was to-day sent to gaol for four months on a charge of false representations. Sub-Inspector Lipp informed the Bench that Mclntosh was accepted everywhere for what he represented himself to be. Ho introduced himself to several doctors and, sometimes with medical men, and at other times alone, visited hospitals and was allowed into tho operating theatres. , , He gavo the officers of the cruiser Sydney a good time in a hired motor car, for which lie did not pay. He also ordered several cars, some of which were specially altered to suit him. They were left on tho firms’ hands with alterations which cost in some cases a.s much as £SO. Mclntosh did not pay for his accommodation at boardinghouses where he stayed. In sentencing Mclntosh, the police magistrate, Mr Hislion, said lie had a rcmarkablo record, some of his convictions being for shocking offences.
