CHRISTCHURCH RESOLUTION

The Council of Christian Congregations to-night adopted a resolution congratulating tho Government on its refusal to grant permits for the holding of art unions “on the big scale that has of late become a grave scandal,” and rejoicing at tlio note of alarm sounded in high quarters in regard to tho’appalling prevalence of the gamb ling habit.
