CLOTHES BURNT OFF.

BENZINE THROWN ON FIRE. SYDNEY', June 8. Benzine thrown on a fire in a stove at the Austral Laundry, Dowling-street, Surry Hills, this morning, caused an explosion, which knocked down an employee, Herbert Fletcher, aged 40, of Bathurst street, city, whose clothes caught on fire. Other employees ran to Fletcher’s assistance and subdued the flames, but not before he was severely burned. He was taken by the Central Ambulance to the Sydney Hospital.
