WORLD COMBED. NEW YORK, June 9. One of America’s greatest kidnapping mysteries has been solved after half a century. Charles Ross, who was abducted from his home in Philadelphia when aged four, has been found living in a Southern State. He is married and has a wife ijnd six children. Thousands of dollars were spent by his parents in a search, which lasted for years, and extended throughthe world. On September 20, 1875, a man named Westervelt was convicted of conspiracy to conceal the abduction of little Charley Ross. The trial lasted three weeks, and occasioned tremendous- public interest. Although Westervelt went to prison he refused to disclose his knowledge of Lhc whereabouts of the child.
