DANGEROUS?
BASSO AND PASSION-FRUIT. LONDON, May 30. Although Chaliapin, the Russian basso is said to be a gourmet, he limited himself to coffee at a farewell luncheon at the Savoy prior to leaving for Australia. When it was suggested that lie might find passion-fruit a novelty, lie replied jokingly, “it might be a dangerous food lor a man of my temperament.”
