The fortnightly eucliro and dance evenings which have become a regular event in the social activities of the Hokowhitu district, and which have proved a highly successful financial aid to the school committee, in their work, were advanced a further stage last evening when another well attended gathering took place. A euchre tourney engaged the attention of one section of the attenders, the termination of play finding Mrs Wakeford the winner in the ladies’ section and Mr Johnston in the men’s division, while the consolation awards fell to Miss Leakey and Mr Sylvester respectively. For the dancing, excellent music was furnished by Mr T, Bradley, while an extra was rendered by Miss Sylvester. Mr G. Lane fulfilled the duties of M.C. for the dancers and Messrs Jtobbio and Shailor .supervised the card tourney. • , Bargains for children at the C. M.
