Potatoes, £l3 to £l4. Onions, £l9 to £2O. —Press Association. BANK OF ENGLAND RETURNS'. Received April 9, 9.10 a.m. LONDON, April 8. Bank of England returns are as follow : Issue department: Notes in circulation amount to £141,892,000, notes in reserve to £23,109,000; total, £165,001,000. The Government debt amounts to £11,015,000. Other securities amount to £8,735,000; and gold coin and bullion amounts to £145,251,000, a total of £165,001,000. Banking department: Proprietors’ capital totals £14,553,000, while tho rest amounts to £3,150,000; public deposits total £13,176,000, other deposits being £106,972,000. Seven-day and other bills at 7 per cent total £137,858,000. Government securities amount to £45,140,000. other securities to £08,205,000; notes in reserve amount to £23,109,009, gold and silver coin to £1,404,000, a total of £137,858,000. The proportion in reserve to liabilities is 20.40 per cent. Short loans are at 4 per cent, three months’ bills at 4j} per cent.—A. and N.Z. cable.
