FRIENDLY SOCIETIES.

The fortnightly meeting of the Oroua Lodge No. 5, was held last night, A.D. Brother Lang presiding. Two now members wero initiated. P.A. Brother Nicholson of Maitai Lodge, Nelson, was nomniated as an honorary member. Brother J. K. Jackson was nominated and elected to the vaconcy of L.V.8., and installed by D.P. Brother Evans. Final arrangements were completed for the euchre tournament this evening, at which it is proposed to give as prizes two 51b boxes of tea and two 501 b bags of flour.' The meeting concluded with a card tournament and supper.
