ACTIVITY IN RENOVATION. APPLICANTS PREPARING
WAIHI, April 2. In anticipation of the granting of licenses at the forthcoming sitting of the Ohinemuri Licensing Committee, which will be held at Paeroa early in June, steps are being taken to alter and renovate • premises which housed licenses prior to the coming into force of no-license some 17 years ago. The owner of the Commercial Hotel building is having the property thoroughly renovated, the old portions in which timber had decayed being reinstated. This work will probably be completed in about two months.

The old Mackaytown hotel is to be removed to Waikino, where it will be modernised, altered and exiened to meet present day requirements. A license will be asked for. It is also reported that there will applicants before the Court for an hotel at.Kcrepeehi and one at Waitoa, two growing farming areas.
