AUSTRALIA AND CANADA. EFFECT ON BUTTER PRICES. Received April 1, 9.45 a.m. OTTAWA, March 31. “If it never works out any worso than it has for this year, I hope it will go on for ever,” said tho Minister of Agriculture, Mr Motherwell, when referring to tho Australian trade treaty in the House of Commons.

He said he thought it would bo well to give the treaty a year’s trial, and maintained that ever since Australian and New Zealand butter had come into Canada the price had gone up for the Canadian product, which was commanding a higher price than prevailed in tho world markets —A. and N.Z. cablo.
