IDLE AND DISORDERLY.
ELDERLY MAN SENT TO GAOL,
UNFORTUNATE CASE.
Described as a (labourer, l’atrlick Bray, 60 years of age, appeared before Mr Edwards, J.P., at tho * Police Court this morning, charged with being idle and disorderly. Accused pleaded not guilty. Evidence was given by Constable Matthew that ho had arrested accused yesterday afternoon. He had been hanging round town for some considerable time, and had been begging for food and sleeping out at night. Senior-Sergeant O’Grady stated that accused had not done any work for the past three months, and had no home or means of livelihood. He had previously been convicted for being idle and disorderly. The case was . unfortunate; the man ought really to be in a home. Sentence of 14 days’ imprisonment was passed by the Bench, Mr Edwards commenting that a home was the proper place for accused. ,
