NARROW ESCAPE

TRAIN STRIKES MOTOR CAR. LITTLE DA~MAGE DONE. Per Press Association. TAUMARUNUI, April 1. A lady motorist had a narrow escape at the Rangaroa railway crossing last night when a goods train hit the rear of the car and swung it round facing in the opposite direction to that in wfiieh it was going. The train was travelling slowly and tho ear suffered, little damage. The motorist suffered slight cuts and bruises. Misty rain was falling at the time, making visibility difficult, This is a very dangerous crossing with four roads converging on it and in view of the line being obscured from one approach by a coal dump there have been several narrow escapes at this crossing lately.
