STILL BURNING.

DEBRIS IN QUEEN STREET,

Workmen engaged in clearing away the debris of Sunday morning’s fire in Queen street find, now that they have uncovered the upper layers of damaged seed and grain, that the sub-strata is still smouldering. This afternoon some charred boards, when uncovered, were shown to bo ready to burst into flame when exposed to the air, and smoke was issuing from many parts of the heap of grain. Hoses are still connected up with fire plugs in case of emergency for it is patent that the ruins may smoulder for a long time yet. It is a peculiar circumstance that some of the grain at the bottom of the ruins is practically intact, although the greater part, of course, has been damaged by firo and water.
