CONSUMPTION OF ALCOHOL.
DECREASE IN GREAT BRITAIN. (By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) LONDON, March 28. The fact that tho consumption of alcohol in Great Britain has been considerably less since the war is revealed by the latest figures. There has been a reduction of fourteen million gallons of spirits or seven million barrels. There has been an increase of five million gallons of wines. The expenditure last year was £7 4/per head or slightly more than £315,000,000. It is estimated that 1,500,000 gallons It is estimated that 1,500,00 gallons of whisky were shipped from England to America for which Scottish distillers received £2,000,000. —A. and N.Z. cable.
