Walter Arthur Harney was committed for trial at Wilcannia on a charge of murdering William Oliver, an aged rabbiter, whose remains, with tho flesh removed from the bones and the latter disjointed, wore found buried in a rabbit warren near the placo where Oliver and Harney camped.

Harney was arrested when attempting to disposo of Oliver’s property.— Press Association. FATALLY SHOT IN BED. CRIME IN QUEENSLAND. Received March 24, 9.15 a.m. BRISBANE, March 24. At Tully a man named George Mitchell was found in a bed at his home with a bullet wound in. his head. Before dying ho stated that an unknown man fired two shots at him. Later a young man named T. H. Peters was remanded on a charge of murdering Mitchell.—Press Association.

Following a family quarrel in which Alexander Strong, 57 years of ago, is alleged to have threatened tho members of his family at Smith’s Creek, near Munvillumbah, his son, Bruce Strong, aged 26, is alleged to have fired two shots with a rifle at his father, killing him.
