COMMENCED THIS MORNING. The annual sports gathering of the Palmerston Technical School was commenced this morning on the Grey street reserve, when a number of tho minor events and heats wore decided, results being as follow : Junior long jump.—B. Weeks (24in) and W. White (24in) 13ft llin, equal, 1; F. Chin (12m) 13ft 9in 3. Junior girls’ hockey drive: Vera Cornin (13oft) 1, Elisinore Williams (130 ft) 2, Mavis Drain (115 ft) 3. Skipping race.—First heat: Iteanus Duthio 1, Vera Quarrio 2, Eileen Messenger 3. Second heat: Mavis Drain 1, Grace Kayo 2,'Elwin Manley 3. Senior hockey drive.—Reanus Duthie (156 ft) 1, Phyllis Vile (135 ft) 2, Evelyn Jones (118 ft) 3. Girls’ hurdle race.-4-First heat: Molly Campbell 1, Kathleen Martin 2. Second heat: Reanus Duthie 1, Gladys Whitehead 2. Senior handicap high jump.—A. Barrant (scr) 4ft 4in, 1; B. Stallard (3in) 3ft llin, 2; J. Penny (3in) 3ft lOin 3. Junior hop, step and jump handicap. —W. Powell (scr) 32ft lin 1, W. Tozcr (2ft) 31ft 3in 2, W. Sutherland (Ift 6in) 30ft lin 3. 440 yards girls’ senior championship. —lteanus Duthie 1, Irene Carr 2; time, lmin 21 4-ssec. Four distance running events were decided last Wednesday, the results being as follow: Ono mile senior championship.—H. Waldegrave 1, It. Morgan 2, W. Sutherland 3; time, 6min 3 2-ssec. 880 yards junior championship.—W. Gimblett 1, J. Morgan 2, W. Powell 3; time, 2min 48sec. 880 yards senior handicap.—F, Withers (60yds) 1, G. Smith (scr) 2, A.
