HOUSES RAIDED.

CHINESE AND EUROPEANS FINED Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, March 12. As a result of a raid on houses in Tory, Taranaki and Haining streets, yesterday, Louis Wing was fined £lO, Wong Gun and Ah Lee were each fined £3O, and five Europeans who were found on the premises were fined £2 each. Counsel for defendants said that it did not appear that fines would stop this form of gambling which, he said, differed very little from the art unions run by Europeans.
