NEW ZEALAND CHAMPIONSHIPS. Per Press Association. NAPIER, Jan. 25. The New Zealand swimming championships wero continued to-night before a very largo attendance of spectators. Splendid swimming was again witnessed. L. Fairgray (Auckland) clipped 1 4-ssecs off his own 150 yards backstroke record. In the 440 yards intermediate boys’ championship, G. Bridson (Auckland) lowered his own record by nino seconds, putting up a splondid performance. Results : 220 YARDS MEN’S CHAMPIONSHIP. First heat: A. E. Baird (Auckland) 1, D. Pelham (Auckland) 2, D. Fairgray established a lead almost at the start, and increasing his lead all the while, ho finished in great style, breaking his own record by 1 4-ssecs. 100 YARD INTERMEDIATE GIRLS’ CHAMPIONSHIP.
