VALUELESS CHEQUE.
YOUNG MAN SENT TO GAOL. Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, Jan. 16. At tho Police Court Jalin Henry Irvine, aged 23, charged with obtaining a typewriter from Alpe Brothers by means of a valueless cheque, with intent to defraud, was sentenced to three months’ imprisonment. Detectivo Hammond desciibod the accused as something of au adventurer. Ho had obtained money from people in Wellington for “Joys. Unlimited,” a bogus theatrical company.
