TRAIN ROBBERY

LATVIAN BONDS STOLEN. UNDERWRITERS”FACED WITH LOSS. Received January 22, 12.30 p.m. LONDON, Jan. 21. Continental train robbers made. a sensational coup. They opened a specially made trunk and extracted £700,000 worth of Latvian bearer bonds consigned to a London bank. British and Continental police are endeavouring to trace tho bonds, giving special attention to the Paris Bourse, but for the present there has been no attempt to sell the bonds, which leads to the belief that the thieves, fearing detection, may have destroyed them. Several London underwriters are faced with tho loss of £50,000 each if the bonds are not recovered. —Sydney Sun cable.
